Timothy Hacquoil is a PhD researcher at the University of Huddersfield. In 2025 he was awarded a Leverhulme trust scholarship as part of the Amplification Project which explores amplification in music and society. His research focuses on tone shaping and the influence of amplification type on composition for metal guitar. He holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) from the University of Southern Queensland and a Master of Creative Arts from SAE University, Sydney.
