With a global career spanning academia, live music, cultural diplomacy, and advocacy, Dr. Moore’s work bridges ethnomusicology, anthropology, and activism to explore the role of musicians and artists in advancing social and environmental justice and promoting health and wellbeing. Her recent publications include chapters in Sounding Out the State of Indonesian Music, At the Crossroads of Music and Social Justice, and the Cambridge Companion to the Electric Guitar. Her upcoming book, The Rise of Rock Gods in the Last Paradise, examines an Indonesian rock band’s music and activism amid local and global ecological crisis.
